Best GLP-1 providers if you have insurance
Most of this category is cash-pay. These are the providers that will actually work with your plan.
Updated August 25, 2026
The single most expensive mistake in this market is paying cash for something your plan would have covered. Coverage of the visit and coverage of the drug are separate questions, and most direct-to-consumer providers solve neither.
Before paying any membership fee, call your plan and ask two things: is a telehealth visit for weight management covered, and is the specific drug covered for the weight-management indication. A yes to the first tells you nothing about the second.
How we picked
- In-network status with major carriers, or genuine prior-authorisation support
- Published position on which coverage types are accepted or excluded
- Branded formulary, since compounded medication is never covered
- Transparency about what happens if coverage is denied
PlushCare
States it is in-network with most major insurers including Aetna, Humana and Cigna, with most in-network patients paying $30 or less per visit against $129 without. Membership is $19.99/month with the first month free. PlushCare notes honestly that not every plan covers the medication even where the visit is covered.
- Membership
- $19.99/month
- Medication type
- Branded only
- Best for
- People with commercial insurance who want a real physician visit billed through their plan, and who can get the drug covered separately.
LifeMD
Does not accept insurance for the membership itself but builds the programme around insurance navigation for the drug, claiming copays as low as $0 with coverage. Excludes anyone with Medicare, Medicaid or TRICARE. Membership fees already paid are not refunded if coverage is denied — know that going in.
- Membership
- $149/month after the first month
- Medication type
- Branded only
- Best for
- People with commercial insurance who want branded medication and are willing to pay a premium for someone to fight the coverage battle.
Sesame
Offers prior authorisation assistance and states your plan may cover some or all of the cost, while passing through manufacturer self-pay pricing if it does not. Labs are included in its bundled programme.
- Membership
- Not disclosed on the provider's site
- Medication type
- Branded only
- Best for
- Self-pay buyers who want branded medication at manufacturer pricing and are comfortable with a marketplace rather than a single care team.

This review is editorial research about a commercial service. It is not medical advice, and it is not a recommendation to start, stop or change any treatment. GLP-1 medications are prescription drugs with real contraindications and side effects. Decisions about whether they are appropriate for you belong with a qualified clinician who knows your medical history.
